HedgeHog is a world-class backgammon engine that teaches you as you play. Play it, analyze your matches with it, and find out exactly where your games are won and lost.

Its strongest neural network beats every reference engine it has been benchmarked against, over hundreds of thousands of games, with every result and its confidence interval published. The engine runs on your device, so you can play and get hints with no connection at all.

PLAY AGAINST THE ENGINE
• Unlimited sessions with the doubling cube
• Matches of any length up to 99 points, with the doubling cube and the Crawford rule
• Instant hints on tap: see the best move and how much each alternative costs
• Turn on the Tutor and it warns you before a blunder lands
• Pick up a match where you left off

ANALYSE EVERY MATCH
• Every checker play and cube decision gets its equity, the size of any error and the engine's ranked alternatives
• Blunders and doubtful plays are flagged, so you go straight to the moves that mattered
• Plain-language explanations of why the best play is best
• A match summary with your error rate and accuracy

IMPORT AND TRANSCRIBE
• Import matches from other backgammon programs (.mat, .bgblitz, and XG files)
• Transcribe a live, over-the-board or streamed match move by move, analyzed as you go

TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
• Error-rate trends, blunder histograms and per-phase breakdowns
• Your largest blunder of the week, ready to review
• Watch your numbers improve match after match

STUDY
• Build position trees and branch variations
• Let the engine find the lucky and unlucky rolls in any position
• Annotate your reference positions and return to them on any device

WATCH LIVE MATCHES

• Broadcast your matches, and attach them to a youtube stream

ONE LIBRARY, EVERY DEVICE

LEARN THE GAME
Built-in guides explain what every number means, how to read an analysis, when to double, take or pass, the opening moves and the match equity table.

HedgeHog downloads updated neural networks when they are released, so the engine keeps getting stronger without a new app version.

Available in English, Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Persian, Russian and Turkish.

HedgeHog is a game of skill and dice. There is no wagering, no virtual currency and no real-money play.
