Your voice is more than sound. It is one of the most direct pathways to
your inner state

Voice Therapy explores the connection between vocal practice and mental
wellness. Sustained tones, melodic phrases and rhythmic repetition have long been understood to calm the mind and regulate the body — this app gives you a modern, structured toolkit to use your voice as a daily wellness practice.

You do not need to be a trained singer. You need only your voice and the
intention to listen to it and play with it.

🌿 WHY THE VOICE?

Sustained vocal toning activates the vagus nerve, slowing the heart rate
and reducing the physiological markers of stress. Focused listening to
melodic intervals trains present-moment awareness in a way that closely
parallels meditation. Matching pitch to a drone requires full sensory
attention — there is no room left for anxious thought.

Carnatic ragas are organised around specific emotional qualities —
called rasas — and specific times of day. Practising even a few swaras
of a morning raga or an evening raga is a gentle, evidence-adjacent
path toward emotional regulation.

🎵 MUSIC PRACTICE
─────────────────────────────────────
Load any audio — a recorded raga, a guided vocal exercise, a favourite
composition — and practise along with it at your own pace.

- Place markers to loop a phrase for meditative repetition
- Slow down to 0.5× to absorb each swara fully
- Voice Pause pauses the music the moment you sing and resumes
when you stop — keeping you in the practice without distraction
- Ideal for mantra repetition, raga study, or breath-anchored
vocal exercises

📊 VOICE PRACTICE — LIVE PITCH PLOT

See your voice. In real time, your pitch is drawn against the Carnatic
swara grid across three octaves — Mandra, Madhya and Thara sthayi.

Watching your own voice on a chart is quietly revelatory. Tension in
the body shows as instability in the line. A calm, supported breath
produces a smooth, steady contour. The chart becomes a mirror for
your inner state.

- Built-in Sruthi drone — a software tanpura tuned to your base
sruthi, giving you a continuous tonal anchor to sing against
- Hold a reference contour and observe how consistency develops
across attempts
- Use with headphones for best accuracy when the drone is playing

🔬 VOICE ANALYSIS

Receive a detailed, objective reading of your vocal quality across
six dimensions — a snapshot of where your voice is today.

Three short tasks:
• Sustain a swara — hold Sa for 5 seconds
• Swara glide — move slowly from Sa up to Pa and back
• Short phrase — hum Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa

Six quality dimensions scored 0–100:
• Pitch accuracy — how centred you are on the target swara
• Pitch stability — steadiness of tone, free from tremor
• Voice clarity — the ratio of harmonic tone to breath noise
• Amplitude steadiness — evenness of volume and energy
• Vibrato quality — natural oscillation rate and depth
• Breath support — the quality of airflow behind the tone

Over time these scores tell a story. As stress reduces, voice clarity
and stability typically improve. As breathing deepens, breath support
scores rise.

🏋️ VOCAL EXERCISES FOR YOU

After each analysis, the app generates a personalised set of
practice exercises targeting your weakest dimensions. Every exercise
is built around the Music Practice and Voice Practice tools already
in the app — no external resources needed.

Each exercise card gives you step-by-step guidance and opens the
relevant module in one tap. Practise regularly and watch your scores
shift alongside your sense of wellbeing.
