—— They say there is a fabled hot spring inn that only those truly worn down by life can ever reach ——

When I heard that rumor, a thought crossed my mind:
“Maybe, as I am now, I could get there.”

I knew it was probably nonsense. And yet, somehow, I was already deep in the mountains.

I started cursing my own decision about an hour after leaving the bus stop they called “the nearest,” walking a mountain path.

“If my mind and body were still in one piece, I never would have believed a story like this…”
I muttered that, and turned to go back the way I came — and then.

The inn was there.
