IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER

GNM is an independent contact-management application developed by OceanBrown, a private Gambian technology business. GNM does not represent, operate on behalf of, or claim affiliation with the Government of The Gambia, the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA), or any mobile network operator.

OFFICIAL INFORMATION SOURCE

Information about The Gambia’s migration from 7-digit to 9-digit mobile numbers is based on the official public notice published by PURA:

https://pura.gm/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/PURA_Website_NNP_Migration_Public_Notice.pdf

ABOUT GNM

GNM helps users update saved Gambian mobile numbers from the previous 7-digit format to the new 9-digit format.

With GNM, you can:

• Scan contacts for eligible Gambian mobile numbers
• Preview proposed changes before updating anything
• Create a local backup before migration
• Update eligible numbers using the published numbering format
• Restore contacts from a previous GNM backup
• Find and carefully clean duplicate contacts
• Track backup, migration and cleanup progress
• Receive notifications when important operations are completed

PRIVACY-FOCUSED CONTACT PROCESSING

GNM requires access to your contacts to scan, back up and update saved telephone numbers. Contact names, phone numbers and backup files are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to OceanBrown’s servers.

An internet connection may be used for app configuration, operational notifications and access verification.

YOU REMAIN IN CONTROL

GNM displays a preview before migration so you can review eligible changes. We recommend creating a backup before updating contacts and keeping it until you have confirmed that the migration was completed correctly.

GNM is an independent technical tool and is not an official government service. For authoritative information about The Gambia’s National Numbering Plan, always refer directly to PURA using the official source provided above.
