How teams work in Gardenscapes

Teams are the main social feature in Gardenscapes. Extra lives, chat, and collaborative events are just a few of the benefits of being part of one. Whether you’re aiming for leaderboard glory or just want a steady stream of extra lives, joining a team makes a noticeable difference. Here’s everything you need to know about teams in Gardenscapes.

Joining or creating a team

Teams don’t unlock until quite a bit into your Gardenscapes journey; level 36 to be exact. Just keep on beating levels, earning stars, and completing tasks until you get there.
Once you do, the Teams tab unlocks in the bottom menu. You can browse open teams, search by name or ID, or create your own by spending 2,000 coins.
Open teams let anyone join instantly, while Closed teams require approval from a team leader or co-leader. Leaders can also set a minimum level requirement for entry.

Team events and rewards

Joining a team gives access to recurring team events. In the Team Chest, you win levels to collect keys as a group to open the rewards chest. However, in the Gardener’s Championship, your team will compete with others for weekly rankings. The more active the team, the better the collective score — and the rewards that come with it.

Team scores and activity

Team score is based on the total number of levels completed by all members. While weekly help points track how often you send lives to other teammates. Help out your teammates as often as you can to improve your team score and position on the leaderboard.
In active teams, leaders often clear out inactive members before events to maintain momentum. Once removed, you can’t rejoin the same team for seven days. You’ll also be automatically removed from the team if you’re inactive for more than 180 days.

Sharing lives and chatting

The core benefit of teams is sharing lives. You can send and receive lives from team members, so that you can keep playing without long waits. There’s also a basic chat function – handy for coordinating event efforts, celebrating progress, or just saying hi. Some teams are chatty, others stay silent and focused on sharing lives.

Choosing the right team

If you’re after steady progress, look for teams with frequent activity and at least a dozen active members. Want a casual setup? Join a low-pressure team with no chat requirements. Prefer structure and event coordination? Closed, curated teams tend to offer a more organized approach.
Teams in Gardenscapes turn solo progress into a shared effort. Whether you’re joining to stay stocked on hearts or to climb team leaderboards, teaming up is one of the smartest ways to level up faster and enjoy the game’s bigger rewards. Keep an eye on event days, help your team stay active, and make the most of the features on offer.
