Everything to know about Edgar in Brawl Stars

With over 90 Brawlers to choose from in Brawl Stars, each with their own abilities and attacks, there's a lot of information to consider when jumping into a match. If you're the kind of player that prefers to be precise with attacks and make quick retreats rather than charging into battle, then Edgar is a wise choice for you.
This guide will dive into Edgar's skills, attacks, and build options to give you the best way to play the scarf-wearing warrior, as well as the smartest ways to use him in the heat of Brawl Stars battle. Edgar will require a specific focus to succeed, but if you train yourself to play his way, you'll see plenty of victory screens in your Brawl Stars career.

Who is Edgar?

Edgar is an Epic-level assassin who wears a long striped scarf, which doubles as his weapon. His attacks are all close-range, but the scarf adds a little bit of extra reach to each attack. His in-game biography describes Edgar as someone who "believes nobody understands him." He says that, despite what others tell him, "the darkness in his soul is eternal."

Edgar's Attacks

Edgar's main attack is called Fight Club, which launches quick scarf-boosted punches in a certain direction. Each successful attack heals Edgar a tiny bit, which allows him to engage an opponent and land a full loadout of punches without being concerned with dying, as the health boost will mitigate any damage.
His Super is one of the few in the game that doesn't deal direct damage, but instead offers Edgar a mobility boost. It's called Vault, and it sends Edgar into the air high enough to clear any obstacle. He also receives a slight speed boost when he lands, giving him extra opportunity to close in on an opponent. His Trait also aids his movement by charging his Super and Hypercharge.

Edgar's build options

Edgar's Let's Fly gadget increases Vault's self-charging property, giving him access to more Vaults during a match. As mobility is Edgar's strong suit, this gadget is more offensive as opposed to his other gadget, Hardcore, which generates a temporary shield to protect him from damage for a short time. Use whichever gadget that suits your strategy with him.
Similarly, his Star Power options are very different. Hard Landing empowers his attacks to deal more damage to opponents after a Vault. Fisticuffs, on the other hand, adds extra healing to each successful Fight Club attack. On reaching Power Level 11, he’ll unlock the Outburst Hypercharge, which’ll double his Super charge rate and reload speed for a few seconds.

Best Edgar strategies

Edgar follows the Muhammad Ali mindset in battle – "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee." He's at his best weaving in and out of small fights, dealing as much damage as he can before retreating with a Vault and giving himself time to heal. Keep this in mind as you play with him, and you'll be able to fight and move with ease.
There is a potential for a tank-like build if you want to try the Hardcore/Fisticuffs pairing as a build, but Edgar's durability even with those boosts will be a tough obstacle to overcome. Approach him with the mindset of an agile assassin, and you should have no problem leading Edgar to victory.
