Best ways to earn resources in Whiteout Survival

Building a camp in Whiteout Survival's frozen tundra is no easy task. You'll need plenty of survivors, food for them to eat, and materials to build and upgrade the buildings they'll be working in. These resources are vital, and you need to know how to earn as many as possible.
Here, you'll see what the best ways are for producing resources as you play through Whiteout Survival. Some are focused in your camp, while others will take you exploring the hostile environment in search of a big score. If you keep these in mind while playing, you'll be able to collect more than enough resources to keep your camp going forever.

Upgrade buildings

It may sound weird to say "use resources in order to earn more resources," but as the old cliché goes, you have to spend money to make money. Production buildings like the Sawmill, Cookhouse, etc., will give you a decent amount of resources at the start, but if you want to keep up with what the rest of the game will throw at you, you have to upgrade them.
Whenever you upgrade the Furnace at the center of the camp, make a trip around your camp and upgrade all the resource-producing facilities around it. Eventually, you'll be making enough resources that when it comes time to upgrade again, you'll barely even notice the hit to your resource reserves.

Read your mail

See that little envelope icon in the bottom right corner of the screen with that big red number you sometimes overlook? That's your mailbox, and it includes official communications from the development team, system messages, alliance updates, and more. This is a gold mine for resources – that red number indicates how many messages you've received, and a lot of them have chests attached.
Be sure to check your in-game mail often and collect any rewards that are waiting for you there. If you're running out of a certain type of material and can't afford a major upgrade, your mailbox might be the unlikely hero you need.

Explorations and Expeditions

Explorations and Expeditions are great ways to earn fast rewards, as both offer easy-to-play missions and give out big rewards when you finish them. Expeditions include all the battles you fight on the World map, while Explorations task you with fighting increasingly powerful enemy squads of heroes as you move up the chain.
Remember to upgrade your heroes as you progress, as keeping them in fighting shape will only make things easier for you in both Exploration stages and Expedition missions. Keep defeating the enemy hordes, and the resources will roll in.

Increase staff at factories

Upgrading your factories and other buildings offers one more advantage: it allows you to assign more workers to those factories for resource output. If you have the survivor numbers to fully staff a given factory, be sure to mandate as many survivors for work as you can. The more workers you have, the more they will produce.
However, this may wear down your survivor base and send a lot of them to the hospital/infirmary, which you also want to avoid in this setting. Sick workers can't work in the field, so be sure everyone stays happy and healthy to keep that resource train rolling as long as possible.
