How to change your skin in Minecraft

Playing Minecraft is a great way to show off your creativity and individuality, both in terms of what you build, as well as what you look like. Show off your style and customize your look in Minecraft by changing up your character skins. With this guide, we’ll teach you how to find and change out your skins to refresh your appearance in the game.

Explore the Dressing Room

You can view all your skins by visiting the Dressing Room. Start on the main menu and tap the big gray button labeled Dressing Room underneath your character. If you’ve saved any skin customizations in the past, they’ll display here, but if you want to equip something new, click Change Classic Skin to explore the entirety of your skin collection.
There’s a massive list to choose from, including anything you've unlocked in the past through gameplay or the Marketplace. Select the skin you want to wear, then tap "Equip" to put it on. When you head back to the main menu, you’ll see your character wearing the skin you chose.

Character vs. Classic

Skins are sorted in two distinct categories: Character skins and Classic skins. Character skins let you customize individual articles of clothing. Classic skins are full-body outfits you equip in one swoop with no interchangeable parts. Both can be viewed in the Dressing Room.

Getting new skins

If your wardrobe needs a refresh, visit the Marketplace to check out the skins available for purchase. These skins are split into two categories. Skin Packs By Minecraft are official skins made by the developers of the game. Community Skin Packs are skins made by fellow players. Note that any purchase in the Marketplace requires Minecoins, which are only available with a real-world purchase.
