Top heroes for Mobile Legends beginners

The world of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is populated with many different heroes, and for a new player it might be intimidating to try and pick the right one to start your journey. Below, you'll find our picks for the best starter heroes in Mobile Legends.

Layla

Layla is a Marksman, which means she can deal damage from a distance so you can avoid close-range battles. Her abilities also make it easy to learn how unique attacks work, with Malefic Bomb acting as a more powerful version of her normal attack, while Void Projectile serves as a quick and effective Area of Effect (AoE) attack that can damage multiple enemies at a time within a certain range.

Vexana

Vexana can be a good control option early in your Mobile Legends career. Her attacks inflict status effects that temporarily disable multiple enemies, like Deathly Grasp which forces enemies to run away from battle. Her ultimate attack, Eternal Guard, summons a massive ethereal being to join the battle for 15 seconds, where it attacks enemies and sends them into the air to stop their movements.

Miya

Miya’s moveset is friendly to new players while deep enough for seasoned players to appreciate. Moon Arrow adds a second arrow to Miya's basic attack for a short period of time, which doubles her damage output, while Arrow Of Eclipse brings heavy AoE damage to crowded areas in the hope of clearing them out.

Balmond

Balmond is at his best hunting all the monsters that live between lanes, bestowing buffs to himself and his team with each kill. Soul Lock is a good way to get used to special mobility moves that transport a character quickly, but that’s not his only talent. Cyclone Sweep's multiple strikes make for a fantastic option for chipping away the health of the biggest baddies in the jungle.

Dyrroth

As a Fighter, Dyrroth’s moveset is tailor-made for both offense and defense in the bottom portion of the map. Burst Strike gives Dyrroth the option to attack from a distance when needed, while Spectre Step knocks back the first opponent you contact while rushing forward. What's more, Dyrroth’s passive Abyss ability enhances both these attacks for even more strength.

Lesley

Lesley's moveset makes her perfect for a stealth-based approach. Master Of Camouflage turns Lesley invisible for a full three seconds, which gives her an opportunity to get into position for the final blow. That blow is usually her Ultimate Snipe or Tactical Grenade abilities, both of which deal damage in the hundreds. The two can even combo into one another while Ultimate Snipe is active.
