Tips on how to play Cordelius in Brawl Stars

The unique design of each Brawler in Brawl Stars lends itself to the game's charm, but a few Brawlers still manage to stick out from the crowd. Cordelius is one such Brawler, as his love for mushrooms makes him one of the fascinating characters in the game.

This guide will tell you everything you need to know about this fun guy who loves fungi, including his attacks, build options, and best strategies. Cordelius can pack a serious punch in the right hands, but his ability set is just as unique as his look, and you'll need to know everything about it to succeed.

Cordelius is a mushroom-loving Brawler who sits at Legendary rarity. His striking purple mushroom hat is accented by yellow goggles and a gas mask, which informs the sort of loadout he'll be using in the arena.

Cordelius's in-game biography refers to him as the "gardener and caretaker of the Enchanted Forest." As his appearance can attest, he's said to be "obsessed" with all things mushroom, and is "hostile toward strangers" and other Brawlers. One unique thing about him is his Trait which lets him charge his Super faster by staying close with his enemies.

Cordelius's attacks lean heavily into his love for mushrooms, as he incorporates them into both of his main offensive abilities. His main attack, fittingly called Mushrooms, launches two mushrooms at opponents, which deal direct damage on contact.

His Super, This Is My Domain, shoots a Shadow Mushroom out in front of him, and any single opponent that touches it is instantly transported into the Shadow Realm for a one-on-one showdown. While in the purply Shadow Realm, Cordelius moves 20 percent faster and reloads 30 percent faster than when he's in the normal arena.

Both of Cordelius's gadget options have unique utilities, but while Replanting's ability to hop over terrain is cool, Poison Mushroom is more unique. Activating this will launch a poisonous mushroom, and any enemy struck by it will be unable to attack for a full second. In the middle of a heated battle, that one second could make all the difference.

Both his Star Power options offer a pretty significant boost to his powers. If you're going to stick with basic attacks, use Comboshrooms, which deal extra damage to enemies who are hit with both mushrooms at once.

If the Shadow Realm appeals to you, activate Mushroom Kingdom, which spawns small Mushrooms that heal Cordelius and damage his opponent while in the Shadow Realm.

Cordelius is a tough Brawler to pin down, as his unique ability set offers a lot of different directions to consider. Constant pressure from the Mushroom’s basic attack – especially if you've activated Comboshrooms – will be the best bet, all while working in the occasional trip to the Shadow Realm.

That being said, if This Is My Domain is going to be a big part of your gameplan, go with the Mushroom Kingdom Star Power. The generated mushrooms are hard for an opponent to avoid, and the ones they are able to dodge can be used to heal Cordelius instead. It helps that Cordelius is faster in that realm too, so he can pick up any errant mushrooms needed.
