Each character in Genshin Impact has different abilities. To be effective, you'll want to create a squad whose abilities cover a lot of different scenarios. Generally, you want your primary damage-dealer character to be someone who can also take a lot of punishment while fighting enemies.

You also likely want two support characters whose abilities synergize well with your damage-dealing character. They can do this either by setting up elemental interactions, buffing your team, or debuffing enemies. Finally, you’ll benefit from a healer who can keep the party in fighting shape.
