Free Fire offers plenty of character options to unlock as you progress through the game, each with their own unique and interesting abilities. Some deal with attack power, others with increased health, but a few, like Iris, focus on a single universal mechanic and make it extra powerful.

Iris is all about the Gloo Wall, the "instant cover" mechanic that pops a wall in front of your character when activated. Not many other characters in the game make the Gloo Wall a central part of their strategy, so if nothing else, Iris is a great character if you want to get into the habit of using Gloo on the regular.

Iris is a 30-year-old technologically advanced assassin. She had a hand in shaping the city she lives in, though the in-game bio is light on details of how she accomplished this.

Her vision is top-notch and allows her to seek out her prey with ruthless precision. With her optimistic and hyper-individualistic nature, she's not good on a team, and only ever cooperates with Homer – who accepts her unconditionally and always cleans up her messes.

Iris's special ability, Wall Brawl, enhances the Gloo Wall's functionality. While most characters simply use these as a quick means of cover, Iris can turn them into a beacon that locates other players in real time.

When Wall Brawl is activated and another player deploys Gloo Wall, Iris can shoot the wall and instantly reveal all enemies within seven meters of that wall. What's more, she can even fire weapons through the wall at the marked opponents, although damage is reduced whenever the shots come through the Gloo.

Bringing Iris into battle is a great idea if you want to learn more about the Gloo Wall mechanic. Her ability to make the temporary cover more effective with tracking capabilities and pass-through mechanics are great, though they make Gloo seem less effective in another character's hands.

Since Gloo is meant to provide cover, and multiple Gloo Walls can be deployed at once, Iris is a major boon in a team setting. If a teammate sets up a wall, Iris can then step in and take point, using her Gloo-enhancing abilities to sniff out enemies and take them down.
