All about Chief Orders in Whiteout Survival

Leading a city full of survivors in the frozen wastes of Whiteout Survival is tough, but you have a lot of tools at your disposal in order to keep things moving smoothly. One of those tools is Chief Orders, a list of sweeping decrees that can either be exactly what your city needed – or the thing that sends it to ruin.
Here, you'll learn everything there is to know about Chief Orders, from where to find them on the main menu to how they can affect your camp. Chief Orders can have a significant impact on your camp, so be sure to read up before giving it a try in the game.

What are Chief Orders in Whiteout Survival?

Chief Orders are a set of edicts that let you make special adjustments to your city's productivity, survivors, and resource development over time. Once you enact a Chief Order, its effect will take place almost immediately; and once the adjustment time is up, you'll have to wait for the order to cool down before activating it again.
You get access to Chief Orders after upgrading your Furnace to level 6, and unlock the Chief’s House. To activate Chief Orders, you need Contentment Points, which you can earn by keeping the survivors in the city content and happy. You can see how many Contentment Points you have in the top right corner of the Chief Orders screen.

Where to find Chief Orders

After loading up Whiteout Survival, look for a scale symbol in the bottom right corner of the screen, just above the envelope symbol that takes you to your in-game messages. Tap the gateway symbol to access the Chief Orders menu.
Once here, you'll be able to see the Orders you can activate, as well as any Orders that are currently active or on cooldown. Click on one of the books on the shelf in order to open the Order, and tap the "Enact" button underneath to activate.

Weigh the risks

Read every word of a Chief Order before placing your stamp of approval on it. While an Order offers an impressive and quick boost to your city, that boost could come at the expense of survivor morale or survivor health. Make sure your camp won’t suffer any devastating effects from an order before activating it.
For example, one Chief Order, Urgent Mobilization, forces survivors to man every worksite in the city for 48 in-game hours to gather extra resources. However, doing so decreases their mood by a full 10 points, which could lead to survivors leaving the city or striking. Stamp every book with care; you never know what could happen to your city once you do so.
