Here's every building type in Township

When setting out on your Township adventure, there are two key factors that you'll be balancing throughout your time in the game: farming the land and building structures on top of it. Farming is rather simple – plant the crop, harvest the crop when it's time and repeat – but the building aspect can be a bit more complicated.
In this guide, we've laid out each of the six types of buildings that you'll have access to while playing Township. We've also provided a few examples of the buildings that you'll find in each subsection. Keep this guide handy as you start to develop your Township and you'll know where to go for any type of building that you'll need.

Houses

As the name suggests, the Houses category is where you'll find different types of homes for citizens to live in. The more houses you have, the more citizens your Township will gain, leading to a higher population and more opportunities for building and expansion.
House examples
  • Cape Cod cottage (costs 10 gold to build, adds 10 citizens, build time 10 minutes)
  • Chalet bungalow (costs 15 gold to build, adds 15 citizens, build time 20 minutes)
  • Bungalow (costs 25 gold to build, adds 25 citizens, build time 1 hour)
  • Gablefront cottage (costs 105 gold to build, adds 35 citizens, build time 2 hours)

Community buildings

Community buildings are communal spaces like shops, schools, hospitals and the like, which benefit the entire community, rather than an individual. These buildings increase the maximum number of citizens that can live in your town at one time, which can also affect how many fields you’re allocated.
Community building examples:
  • School (costs 30 gold to build, increases maximum citizenship by 20, build time 10 minutes)
  • Hospital (costs 40 gold to build, increases maximum citizenship by 25, build time 20 minutes)
  • Police station (costs 50 gold to build, increases maximum citizenship by 30, build time 30 minutes)
  • Fire station (costs 75 gold to build, increases maximum citizenship by 35, build time 1 hour)

Factories

Factories are where you turn raw materials into finished products that you can sell for gold, shipping via the train station or use for building new structures. Your town requires a certain number of citizens before you can build factories, so keep an eye on your population before trying for a certain factory.
Factory examples
  • Bakery (requires level 2 and 55 citizens, costs 125 gold to build, build time 3 seconds)
  • Feed mill (requires Level 3 and 60 citizens, costs 150 gold to build, build time 40 seconds)
  • Dairy factory (requires Level 4 and 65 citizens, costs 175 gold to build, build time 1 hour)
  • Sugar factory (requires Level 7 and 75 citizens, costs 250 gold to build, build time 2 hours)

Farm buildings

Where factories take materials and use them to create new items, farming structures are where those raw materials are harvested. You’ll be able to gather grain for bread, milk from cows for cheese and more from these farms.
Farm buildings examples
  • Cowshed (one of the first structures that you will see in Township, no cost to build)
  • Chicken coop (Level 5 required, costs 200 gold to build, build time 1 hour)
  • Sheep farm (Level 10 required, costs 600 gold to build, build time 4 hours)
  • Apiary (Level 35 required, costs 9,000 gold to build, build time 38 hours)

Zoo

You’ll unlock the zoo at Level 24 and can start restoring and expanding it straight away. Building zoo enclosures will help you earn T-cash, complete regatta orders and make space in your barn when you need it to store other material. As you complete zoo orders, you’ll also earn ingots, gems, expansion tools and more.
Zoo enclosure examples
  • Bear and flamingo (already built when you unlock the zoo)
  • Zebra (costs 800 gold, build time 150 minutes and rewards 3 T-cash)
  • Kangaroo (costs 5,300 gold, build time 10 hours and rewards 4 T-cash)
  • Red panda (costs 160,000 gold, build time 56 hours and rewards 6 T-cash)

Special buildings

Special buildings are one-off structures that become available at certain town levels. These unlock more potential activities in your Township or upgrade your town's ability to store or sell items to other areas.
Special building examples
  • Barn (already unlocked at Level 1, stores goods and materials)
  • Helicopter (unlocked at Level 3, sends goods to neighbouring towns for gold and experience)
  • Train station (unlocked at Level 5, sends goods to trade for other goods)
  • Town hall (unlocked at Level 6, stores personal stats and achievement information)
