Advanced tips for Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact is a deep, complex game, and there are lots of little things that you're expected to learn on your own over time. As you advance your World Level and Adventure Rank, things will get more difficult, but that’s where we can help. Here's a rundown of advanced elements of the game that aren't immediately obvious and can help your progress and exploration.

Prioritise your Daily Commissions

You might not want to put in hours on Genshin Impact every single day, but it might be worthwhile to put in at least a few minutes to fulfil your daily tasks. After you hit Adventure Rank 12, you'll unlock Daily Commissions in your quest log, which will allow you to quickly earn rewards like Primogems, EXP, Mora, etc.
Even if you don't play much, it's worth jumping in every day and completing these quick and easy tasks to keep a steady supply of currency to buy Wishes.

Use your Original Resin

Original Resin is a precious resource that you can use to claim rewards in domains or after boss fights. Certain activities, like Ley Line Outcroppings, require you to purchase your rewards with Original Resin after you finish them.
However, unlike other currencies, Original Resin replenishes over time, so when you're carrying a full load of 200 Resin, you won't get more. So do your best to use Original Resin as much as you can to make sure that you're able to earn as many rewards as possible.

Dash, don't sprint

You'll travel a lot in Genshin Impact, so you need to find the best way to get where you're going quickly. You'll be tempted to use the game's sprint function, but sprinting sucks up your stamina a lot faster. A more efficient way to move quickly is to use the dash ability. Chain dashes together, and you can move more quickly overall, while spending less stamina.

Trigger i-frames to avoid damage

Dodging incoming attacks can be tough, especially against large groups. But the dodge isn't the only move that can protect you and your teammates. You can also trigger 'i-frames', or invincibility frames, that help you avoid getting hit if you time them right.
Elemental bursts give you a brief window of protection, so if you see a big hit coming, try using a burst so you can dish out some punishment without receiving any. You can also access i-frames by timing your Dashes correctly or by character swapping at the right moment.

Make offerings to Statues

Increasing your stamina is important, as it affects how high you can climb and how long you can swim. To do this, seek out the Statues of the Seven scattered throughout the map. Make offerings of Oculus items that you find throughout the world, which will reward you with amped-up stamina, as well as a few other handy rewards.

Explore all you can and mark your progress

Making your way across Teyvat is an arduous process, and some quests aren't shy about giving you long distances to traverse. Whenever you are in any new area, make your way to a nearby Teleport Waypoint as soon as possible. You'll unlock the ability to teleport to that location, while also gathering a few Primogems for your effort.
As you make your way to your destination, make sure that you keep an eye out for any important locations. You can save as many as 250 'pins' on your map to mark spots that you want to return to later. Marking points of interest and unlocking teleport locations will save you a tonne of time later on.

Max out your primary character first

As you get into the later stages of the game and your Adventure Rank increases, the surplus of levelling materials that you had early in the game will start to thin out. It might be hard to keep several characters at even levels.
If you're forced to choose, prioritise upgrading the character that you rely on most. Keeping your damage dealer as strong as possible will at least make it a little easier to keep advancing as you fight against tougher opponents.
