Kenta fits the traditional 'samurai' archetype, as he's a quiet and stoic warrior with incredible swordsmanship. However, he's also adept at crafting the weapon he uses, which means he knows his weaponry more than anyone else – and that makes him incredibly dangerous.

Kenta used to serve as a bodyguard for Hayato in a 'dangerous time for the Yagami family'. But he has personal goals of his own, which he temporarily cast aside in order to protect his quarry.

Despite its name, Kenta's ability Swordsman's Wrath is a defence-focused ability, rather than offence. It generates a shield that protects him from enemy attacks from the front for a short time. Bear that in mind if someone is taking shots at you from behind.

The shield prevents 60 percent of damage when Kenta isn't firing a weapon, and that rate drops to 20 percent as soon as he pulls the trigger. Damage reduction from the shield is stronger when Kenta isn't attacking, so remember: you can't simply drop the shield and then go guns blazing.

We wouldn't recommend using Kenta in squad-based matches. While his shield ability does a great job of stopping damage, it's limited to the area right in front of him, and if your three teammates aren't right behind him, they won't be able to benefit from the damage reduction boost.

Instead, Kenta is a great choice for solo or duo matches, as his protective shield does a terrific job of protecting him and one partner. Considering his biography describes him as Hayato's bodyguard; keeping him as a solo or duo character fits the theme perfectly.
