Tips for playing in Free Fire's Alpine arena

Free Fire offers a variety of maps to explore, each with a different setting and motif. Alpine showcases the snowy mountainside region of the Free Fire world.
Here, you'll learn everything you need to know about Alpine – from its overall layout and size to the best places to drop in – whether you want a slow start or want to drop into the heat of the action. There's a lot to explore with Alpine, and this guide will help you get the lay of the land.

All about Alpine

Alpine is a massive 8 x 8 km map with plenty of areas to explore and loot. The map is roughly divided into three landmasses. The southwestern portion of the map, with locales like Blue Ville, Ocean View and Forest Red, is separated from the mainland by a river, which cuts through the maps in a semi-circle shape.
Another notable location, Vantage, lies to the southeast and is a small island-like part of the map completely detached from the mainland by the ocean. Dropping here is risky, as you could find yourself without an escape route with an enemy barrelling down on you, but the loot here is sometimes worth the fight.

Alpine hot spots

Each map in Free Fire has locations that attract more players at the start of a match due to their strategic placement or the amount and quality of loot present. These three areas in the Alpine map will be rife with loot and enemies from the get go. If you drop here, be ready for a fight.
  • Militia – Militia is a popular drop spot in every Alpine match that you'll play for its loot quantity and quality. There’s little to no elevation, so it’s not a good area for snipers, but you can set up a decent ambush for your enemies.
  • Snowfall – Snowfall is in the western corner of the map, and while it's not as centrally located as Militia, it has plenty of houses full of loot. This is where you want to land if you want to grab a lot of loot and you don't want things to be as hectic as they would be in Militia. It’s the second largest landing zone on the map and, being snow-covered, it's great for medium to close-range gunplay.
  • Forest Red – This locale is just southwest of Militia, and it's one of the most central locations on the map. Many players like to land here and stock up before heading to the hot zone. If you land here and don't want to fight immediately, lay low and let the first wave of players leave before making your move.

Low-key landing locations

If you're the kind of person who prefers to drop into a more quiet setting and build a solid supply of loot, Alpine has a few great options for you as well. These are spots off of the beaten path that lack a lot of buildings for cover, so are rarely visited by players. All that means is that you are free to loot and explore without worrying about enemies!
  • Ocean View – A place named Ocean View ought to be calm and cool, and Alpine's version is no exception. Set in the west, away from the map's hot zones, Ocean View will give you plenty of loot options to stock up before you set out to win that Booyah.
  • Blue Ville – Blue Ville rests on the southwestern edge of the map and, like Ocean View, it has plenty of buildings to explore out of the way of the popular areas.
  • Rye – Rye finds itself in between three popular drop spots: with Basecamp to the north, Stadium to the south and Vantage to the east. Since most players are attracted to those three spots, Rye will probably be left untouched for you to explore.

Best Alpine strategies

Winning a match on Alpine is a test of patience, even when you land in a particularly crowded area. This is a massive map stuffed with buildings and loot, and you need to spend some time finding a weapon or two in whichever location you choose.
From there, you'll need to be wary of both the areas cut off by water – like Vantage and the more mountainous regions. Coasting through a match, only to get eliminated because you got stuck at the base of a hill, would be a rather embarrassing way to go.
