Q&A with the PAW Patrol Academy creators

PAW Patrol Academy recently earned top (dog) honors as our Best for Families winner. We love its educational and interactive minigames that entertain while helping your child learn. The team behind the app spoke with us to share their journey, challenges, and more.

Originator team: The five founders of Originator are parents who are passionate about creating quality educational apps for young children. After launching a series of award-winning apps – like Endless Learning Academy, Math Tango, and more – the studio merged with the leading global children's entertainment company Spin Master in 2021.

Immediately following the merger, the studio staffed up with more world-class artists, animators and engineers who shared our vision and specifically to develop an app for one of Spin Master's most beloved properties: PAW Patrol.

The largest challenges for the studio involved providing something unique to the space and delivering the right activities that PAW Patrol–loving parents and families wanted. We were also eager to have the app available when PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie premiered in September 2023.

Determined that Spin Master’s first homegrown PAW Patrol app be special, the studio focused on its core strengths - real educational content and kid-approved play. As the brand’s first preschool learning app, PAW Patrol Academy offers fun and adventure – as well as wholesome content kids love and parents trust – inside a new world of early education. Parents really want solutions that educate and entertain their kids, so that screen time is time well-spent.
