Explore the local dating scene with Badoo

Let Badoo be your guide to meeting local singles. Fill out your profile with your favorite photos, then select your interests, answer prompts, and start swiping. Read on to swipe right on our guide to Badoo.

To make real connections with people in your area, start by creating a profile in the app. You can make a new login or sign up through your Gmail or Facebook account. Provide basic information like your name, gender, age, reason for joining, and more. Then, add some personality to your profile with stellar photos, thoughtful responses to prompts, and info about your background and interests.

Badoo will use the interests you select to pair you with people with similar interests, so choose with care.

Once you complete your profile, you’ll be prompted to verify your identity with a quick selfie, so you can look for love without the fear of being catfished. Badoo reviews and approves your photo and gives you a blue check mark next to your name so potential matches know you’re the real deal. You’ll also notice the same blue check mark on other verified profiles.

When you’re ready to start dating, tap “Encounters” on the navigation bar. This pulls up profiles of people near you with similar interests who are single and ready to mingle. Scroll through profiles one by one and see if you sense a spark with someone through their photos, interests, and responses. If it’s a go, swipe right or tap the heart icon. If it’s a no-go, swipe left or tap the “X.”

If you and another user both swipe right, you’re a match. You’ll be notified and a chat will automatically be created in the Chats section. Not sure what to say? Open their profile to remember what caught your attention in the first place – was it their travel photos, witty responses, or interest in the same bands? Once you’re comfortable, you can also call or video call by tapping the phone or video icon.

With Badoo Premium, you can see who swiped right on your profile under the Likes section.

Tap the filter icon in the top right of the Encounters section to narrow down your potential matches. You can select preferred gender(s), age range, and distance, or tap “More options” to refine your preferences even further for things like height, religion, education, and more.

Not interested in any sort of distance? Explore the Nearby section to see people in your area. If someone’s photo piques your interest, just tap it to view their profile. Like what you see? Tap the message icon to start chatting immediately or tap the heart icon to send a “like.”

Try the “Moods” button at the bottom right of the Nearby section to set an emoji for how you’re feeling, so users can see your current vibe at a glance. Want someone to make you laugh? Choose the crying laughing emoji. Looking for a nice chat? Choose the waving hand.
