Advanced tips for Whiteout Survival

So you've built a nice little community in the wintry wilds of Whiteout Survival, and with it an effective little engine of resource gathering, survivor maintenance, and upgrades. While this is the goal of the game, you'll never know when the game will throw its next challenge at you, risking the chance your village will go belly up.
Whiteout Survival has a lot of different mechanics to learn, and with this guide, you'll be able to navigate them and advance your camp in the process. Keep these advanced tips in the back of your mind as you play to help you focus on the main objective, as well as potentially unlock new ways to keep building your village.

Maintain your Exploration squad

The heroes and infantry in the Exploration squad are very important, even if they're limited to one particular function in the game. A powerful Exploration team will result in new supplies and new items for the camp, while an underpowered squad will end up losing every battle they come across, and the camp will suffer for it.
Be sure to routinely recruit new heroes, level up the heroes you already have, and train in the Infantry Hall so your Exploration team is as strong as it possibly can be. This way, whenever you need to send them out for some supplies, they'll crush any opposition and come back with everything you need.

Complete Intel missions

After unlocking the Lighthouse, you can fly a plane, explore the map, and earn extra supplies and other rewards in the process. The Lighthouse is a strategic hub for resource acquisition – a treasure trove of Intel missions. The game walks you through the process the first time you use it, but after that, you may simply forget about it and move on. That would be a mistake.
There won't be many locations to visit when the Lighthouse first becomes available, but as you continue to fly for Intel, the map will fill up in a big hurry. Explore as many points as you can, gathering resources along the way, and you'll be able to keep your reserves full with little effort.

Be careful with Chief's Orders

The Chief's Orders mechanic lets you send out an edict that the entire camp must follow for a specific period of time. This can give you a huge benefit in the short term, but some of these orders will affect elements of the game you wouldn't otherwise expect, so you need to be thoughtful about when and how you activate orders.
For example, the Chief's Order Urgent Mobilization forces your entire camp to work at their worksites for 48 straight in-game hours. While this will give you plenty of new supplies, it has a direct impact on your survivors’ mood. It might also overwork your campers to the point of exhaustion, and could lead to their deaths.

Support your fellow survivors

For a successful community your base camp needs to be as accommodating as possible to these people for as long as they live and work at your camp. This means making sure your camp has enough heat, food, housing, and more.
Be sure to keep the furnace and shelters up to date, as well as the Cookhouse for the hungry and the Clinic for the sick Also, check the Suggestion Box for specific requests from your survivors, and answer them as best as you can. You won't make everyone happy, but you can make the best decisions for your camp, which should make the majority happy in the long run.
