Guide to the pet system in Free Fire

As you're choosing your preset loadout in Garena Free Fire, don’t forget to have a peek at the interesting option at the bottom of the list: Pets. This group of cute little dogs, foxes and more can all be unlocked in order to join you in your battles. What are these little creatures, and how do they help you? Use this guide to find the right battle buddy for you.

What are pets in Free Fire?

Unlock and equip a pet to get an additional buff when you go into battle. Each pet unlocks a specific perk, which can be added to your preset even if you don’t use that pet in battle. For example, if you like the look of Dr Beanie but want the perk Spirit Fox offers, you can assign Beanie as your pet and Spirit Fox as the perk. Below are some of the best Pets to unlock.

Spirit Fox

This cute little fox uses the Well Fed ability, which increases the amount of HP earned from healing items. That extra bump in health can be exactly what you need to stay in the fight. Spirit Fox is also one of the first pets you can unlock, so it makes for a great starting option.

Moony

Moony's a cool little grey alien floating on a mini spaceship while playing with his phone. His ability, Paranormal Protection, looks out for you while you're using Med Kits or other timed consumable items by decreasing the damage that you receive during that time.

Dr Beanie

Donned in a beanie, jacket and shades, Dr. Beanie is one dripped-out and stylish duck. His ability is Dashy Duckwalk, which increases your walking speed while crouching.

Detective Panda

This lollipop-eating panda rewards you for taking out opponents in battle with the Panda's Blessings perk. This ability gets you extra HP for every elimination. Bring Detective Panda with you if you're going for a new personal elimination record, as his healing boosts will help you survive for longer.

Zasil

Zasil is an axolotl, a rare animal with a rare gift. Its perk, Extra Luck, boosts your chances of receiving a bonus consumable item – like a Med Kit, Inhaler or Repair Kit – whenever you use one. That extra item can be a saving grace late in a match.

Avron

Arvon is a dinosaur/dragon hybrid pet that wears a blue jumpsuit. His perk, Dinoculars, can tell you how many enemies are around you in an area. You only get three uses per match, but the information is also shared with your teammates, making this a strategic advantage in squad matches.

Night Panther

Night Panther is a cool-looking robot panther with glowing blue eyes and razor-sharp claws. Its perk, Weight Training, increases your overall inventory space regardless of what level bag you’re currently holding. It's a great pet if you like to pick up as many items as possible during a match.
