Learn how to play Free Fire with friends

Free Fire features up to 50 players in one massive battle royale, and most of the time, you'll likely be dropping in alone. But sometimes, you may want to link up with a friend or two and try to take on a match as a squad. Luckily, the game will let you do that – follow these simple instructions on how to find your friends in-game, and you'll be dropping as a full squad in no time.

The way to pair up with friends on Free Fire is right in the main menu, but it is easily missed: Look for a small icon of a silhouette in the top right corner of the screen. By tapping that, you will enter the Friends menu, where you can find some allies.

Enter the username of the player you're looking for and tap "Search" in the ADD menu. You can filter by language spoken, when a player is most active, which modes they play most often, and more. Also, a list of players recently encountered in different modes will show under the search terms, in case you’re looking for a recent ally to play with again.

Platform Friends tab shows users you have linked with through another platform – like Facebook or the Garena client – who have an account in Free Fire. You can send them a friend request if you want to form a team with them.

The Platoon tab allows you to recruit "cadets" and act as their "mentor" in matches. You must fulfil mentorship requirements in Battle Royale or Clash Squad ranked matches before applying to be a mentor.

If you run into a guild member you want to form a separate team with, you can also send a friend request to them as well. Simply, go to your guild member page, and click the Add Fiends silhouette in front of their username.

The Dynamic Duo tab lets you choose a friend on your list to become a "dynamic duo" with, which offers extra rewards and perks in a match. Finally, the Game Friends tab is where you can find all of the accounts you've linked with in Free Fire.

If you wish to invite some pals from outside the game, the Add, Platform Friends, and Game Friends tabs all display options to send links to the game across different apps. Once you've added a few friends to your list, select anyone who is online, tap to join their game, and you’ll be teamed up and ready to go.
