Make connections on your own terms with Badoo

Badoo is a great way to meet new friends and more. You have the liberty of choosing how you build new relationships, however casual or serious you’d like them to be – it all depends on what you’re looking for.

Whether you’re looking for new friends in your hometown, seeking connections in a new city, or searching for local companions while traveling, the Nearby tab allows you to connect with Badoo users who are closest to you. Here, you can browse profiles through card previews with the nearest ones at the top. Each preview shows you the user's name, age, and proximity to you.

Tap a card you find interesting to view their full profile and quickly send them an emoji reaction, a like, or your best one-liner – no match needed. You can also tap the Moods icon at the bottom-right corner of your screen to set a status like “Up for Adventure” or “Feeling Flirty.” This appears as a badge when you show up on other Badoo users’ Nearby tab.

Control who can message you by tapping your profile tab and then the settings icon in the upper-right corner. Tap “Personalize your experience” to set your parameters, whether you’d like to only view people you’ve liked or verified profiles.

Your Likes tab makes it easier to connect with people who have already liked you – just like them back to match. You can scroll through the top bar to view users by category, such as New likes, Online, or Near you, to make your search easier. Each preview card will show you their names, their age, and whether or not they’re a verified profile.

If your Likes tab is getting a little too crowded, you can clean it up by tapping the heart icon under each card to move them to your matches or tapping the "X" icon to clear them from your feed.

Prefer a more classic dating app experience? Switch to the Encounters tab where you can swipe left to skip a profile or swipe right to like them. If you want to learn more about someone before making the call, scroll down to view the rest of their profile to see their interests, understand what they’re looking for, and view more of their photos.

If the interest is mutual and they like you back, it’s a match. You can send a quick conversation starter on the match page by tapping the message you want to send from preset options at the bottom of your screen, or get creative with your best opening line in the “Write a message” field.

It’s easier to make connections on your own terms when you don’t just have the freedom to choose, but also the freedom to choose how to field your options. On Badoo, it all depends on you.
