What are Clan Wars in Clash of Clans

Clash of Clans is all about joining up with other players and forming a strong group, but what happens once you've created your own clan? There are a few activities worth exploring once the clan is established, and Clan Wars are chief among them.
This guide will give you the basics on the Clan War system, including what they are, the order of operations and how to join in on your clan's next Clan War. Make sure that you don't miss the deadline to participate!

What are Clan Wars?

Clan Wars are competitions and battles between two separate clans, with as many as 50 players participating on each side. Clan War brings the opportunity for you and your clanmates to earn rewards, including gold, elixirs and rare ores.
Each Clan War follows two phases: a Preparation phase and a Battle phase. In the Preparation phase, players from both sides donate troops to the upcoming battles and scout enemy bases. The Battle Phase opens each player up to attack enemy bases – though each player can only attack two bases per Clan War.

Signing up for a Clan War

You won't enter a Clan War for your clan automatically; you have to designate that you wish to be a part of the next Clan War in order to be included. Granted, this isn't a guarantee either; Clan Wars range from five-on-five formats to as many as 50-on-50. If you're not at the top of the list for consideration, and a 5v5 is next up, you may have to wait for the next one.
In order to declare yourself eligible for Clan Wars, go to your Player Profile page from the main menu and tap the 'Clan Wars' button. Choose 'I'm In' to turn the button green, and it'll signal that you are ready for a Clan War and will be considered for every instance until you turn the button back to red.

Joining a Clan War

Once you've declared 'I'm In' on your profile page, you may be assigned a Clan War by your Clan Leader. Once you've been selected, you'll have access to the Preparation page, which will let you get ready for the upcoming battle. The easiest way to be considered for future Clan Wars is to prove yourself in other clan tasks and rank up past your other clan mates.

The 47-hour schedule

Clan Wars have a tight turnaround: you have 23 hours to prepare your troops, and then 24 hours to wage war on your opponent. That's only 47 hours to attempt to claim victory, so be ready to battle as soon as you accept the Clan War!
The clan that scores the most Stars during the 24-hour battle day timeframe is declared the winner. So, you'll have to complete as many missions as you can in order to rack up those stars and win the day. As long as you keep to your most powerful troops and strategies, you should have no problem with your next Clan War.
