Everything about Clan Roles in Clash of Clans

Have you taken the major step of joining a Clan in Clash of Clans? If so, then this guide will be your helping hand in understanding who’s who in the Clan hierarchy, along with the powers and duties of each member involved. You could be the Leader of your own Clan one day or promoted to a high rank, so it’s important to know exactly what all your members are responsible for.

1. The Leader

The Leader role is as straightforward as it sounds. As the highest-ranking member in the Clan, they have complete control over the entire Clan and possess every permission in the book.
They can start Clan Wars and manage members, including promoting, demoting, or kicking them from the group. They can also tweak all of the Clan Settings (like the minimum Trophy requirement to join, the frequency of Clan Wars, or the Clan badge). Whoever founded the Clan automatically becomes the Leader, but leadership can later be transferred to the Co-Leader if the Leader is inactive for more than 60 days. It’s important to find a Clan where the Leader is both knowledgeable and actively involved, as they are in charge of making crucial decisions for everyone involved.

2. The Co-Leaders

The Co-Leader is directly below the Leader in terms of rank. They share many of the same privileges, like managing other members, starting Clan Wars, adjusting certain Clan settings, and moderating the Clan Chat. They’re also expected to keep the Clan running while the Leader is gone, and to assume leadership if the Leader steps down.
There are certain permissions the Co-Leader won’t have – for example, certain Clan Settings can only be tweaked by the Leader. Co-Leaders can’t demote the Leader or disband the Clan.

3. The Elders

Elders are respected and trusted members of a Clan. They can invite players to join the Clan and can also kick Clan Members. While they may not have the same authority as the Leader or Co-Leader, they play a supporting role in engaging the Clan’s community and participating in the Clan’s day-to-day activities, like Clan Wars and troop donations.
They often serve as mentors to newer players, and as a well of knowledge and advice across the board. Elders who prove themselves to be involved and trustworthy may be considered when Leaders and co-Leaders are looking to promote within the Clan.

4. The Members

Everyone who isn’t a Leader, Co-Leader, or Elder falls into the Member role. Members can freely participate in Clan Wars, Clan Games and Clan Leagues, along with requesting and donating troops. They do not have any special privileges like the higher ranks, but they still reap the general benefits of being in a Clan, like engaging in friendly challenges for feedback and earning precious loot from various Clan activities.
Clan Members can be promoted at any time by the Leader or co-Leader, so it’s always good to put your best foot forward, support the Clan in their goals, and remain respectful of everyone.
