Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just like to doodle for fun, you’ll love losing yourself in Concepts. Here’s a look at some of this creative tool’s coolest features for turning your ideas into art.

Concepts is designed to make drawing approachable. Use the tool wheel to tap into your collection of pens, pencils, watercolors, airbrush, and more. Tap the middle of the wheel to adjust your brush’s opacity, size, smoothing, and color. As you draw, rest your hand naturally on your tablet without disrupting your art thanks to pressure sensitivity and palm detection.

Tack on up to five new layers as you draw (subscribe to the Concepts Everything plan for unlimited layers). Each layer is an infinite canvas: Expand it as much as you want, zooming in and out by pinching or spreading with your thumb and forefinger.

Tap “Precision” to turn on a grid view, add measurements, and choose whether your sketches snap to the grid. This auto-alignment can be especially useful for creating floor plans or architectural designs.

The first time you use Concepts you’ll be directed to a setup screen for gestures – motions like a two-finger tap that provide quick access to certain features. Note whether you're left- or right-handed before creating shortcuts for actions and tools like undo, toggle zoom, color picker, and more. To adjust your initial selections or create shortcuts for three- and four- finger taps, go to “Gestures” in the app settings.

In Gestures settings you can even adjust the delay time for recognizing a tap-and-hold gesture.

Found in the app settings, Workspace is another access point for customizing your project. Select between paper types like blueprint, brown, and transparent. Choose from various grid types including the standard square variety and the 3D-friendly isometric. Change your canvas size from infinite to your own desired dimensions for easier exports.
