Master the final dimension of Minecraft’s journey

The End is Minecraft’s final dimension-–a place of mystery, danger, and incredible rewards. From the elusive Ender Dragon to rare resources like End Stone, this realm offers the ultimate test for players. If you’re ready to face the challenge, here’s what you need to know.

How to get to The End

To get the End, you’ll need to find an End Stronghold. By combining Ender Pearls and blaze powder, you can make an Eye of Ender. Toss the Eye of Ender into the air and it’ll glide in the direction of the End Stronghold a short distance before dropping to the ground again.

Reaching the End

Once you get to the End Stronghold, explore around until you find the frame for an End Portal. You’ll notice empty slots on each block of the frame. Slot an Eye of Ender into each one and the End Portal will activate. Make sure you’re ready before you jump in, because the only way to leave is to either defeat the Ender Dragon or die.

Endermen everywhere

The End is swarming with endermen-–tall, teleporting mobs that won’t attack unless provoked. If you accidentally make eye contact, though, you’ll quickly be in trouble. Bring along a carved pumpkin to wear as a helmet, so you can avoid setting them off.

The Ender Dragon showdown

The main attraction of The End is the Ender Dragon, one of Minecraft’s most formidable bosses. The only way out of the End is by defeating the dragon or dying, so if you want to get out, get ready for some dragon whooping. To defeat it, you need to destroy end crystals on top of obsidian pillars, which heal the dragon. Come prepared with a bow, plenty of arrows, and armor with high durability.

Elytra

After defeating the Ender Dragon, the adventure doesn’t stop. End Cities are scattered across The End’s outer islands, filled with loot. The biggest prize? Elytra wings–which allow you to glide through the air–a game-changer for exploration and travel.

Build with End Stone

The End is a barren landscape, but it’s full of End Stone, a unique block that can be used in your builds. It’s incredibly durable, making it perfect for constructing tough, fire-resistant structures. Gather a bunch for your future projects while you’re here!
