Advanced tips for Last War: Survival Game

There’s a lot to keep track of in Last War: Survival Game. Between building a team of heroes, maintaining an active home base, and battling zombies, you'll be spinning a lot of different plates as you progress through each stage.
These tips will keep you focused on a few important tasks while you're trying to balance everything Last War throws at you. From temporary buffs to important strategies in battle, these suggestions will keep things smooth for you as you continue to fight back against the monstrous zombie hordes.

Upgrade your base regularly

It's easy to focus on battling zombies and ignore your home base, but that could cause you problems down the line. For a strong long-term strategy, you’ll want to upgrade your base, especially your Headquarters, as frequently as you can. There's always a building that can be upgraded, or resources that can be harvested, so make the rounds in between each mission so you can complete these tasks.
Forgetting to upgrade buildings in your base, particularly the HQ, can eventually affect your strength outside the walls, as heroes cannot be leveled up past a certain point if the HQ can’t keep up. This means that the hordes will eventually catch up to you and you'll start to lose more than you win – so keep those buildings upgraded.

Take advantage of War Fever

If you assign soldiers to explore or attack a base, you’ll activate War Fever. You’ll know it’s activated when you see a small symbol appear in the top left corner of the screen while at your own base. War Fever grants your army a small boost in attack power at the cost of any shields that are active at the time.
While losing shields is a problem, the boost to attack power can make a big difference in completing a tough mission. You can also time War Fever so it triggers when you don't have shields up anyway, so nothing is lost. This isn't something you'll use often, but it's a noteworthy failsafe in a pinch.

Do the research

When your Headquarters reaches level 7, you'll unlock your first Tech Center. Be sure to place it immediately, as it provides huge benefits if you keep it upgraded. The Tech Center unlocks Research, which you can use to boost your camp's productivity and resources, as well as your army's defense and firepower.
Keep up with the research and immediately start a new research project once one completes, and you'll see the benefits in no time at all. You can get a second Tech Center to gain even more research benefits after clearing Zombies from District 102, and the third Tech Center when your Headquarters reaches Level 30.

Don't attack screens unless you're sure

In the heat of battle, you'll see two types of power-up possibilities approaching: barrels and screens. Barrels break rather easily and provide energy and weapons to your crew, while screens can increase your soldier count if you approach them the right way.
Screens can be considerably harder to activate, and they come at a high cost – if you don't flip the screen from red to blue, it will eliminate a good chunk of your soldiers instantly. Don’t focus on flipping a screen unless you know for sure you can do so. Otherwise, the losses to soldier numbers could jeopardize the entire mission.

Keep an eye out for survivors

Once in a while, be sure to check the radar for events happening around your base. Most of the time, you'll find one-off battles or item drops, but once in a while, you'll see a new survivor who's looking for a place to camp out. Don't miss your opportunity to recruit them.
Survivors play a big part in your base's success, as they can contribute their skills in gardening and building. Soon, you'll have souped-up structures, you'll be producing resources hand over fist, and your community will continue to thrive while you battle it out with the hordes outside the walls.
