Supergirl (1996 - 2003) Issues
Supergirl battles Parasite in the City of Lights! Unfortunately, it may be lights out for the Maid of Might in Paris, as Parasite keeps trying to absorb her powers...and her life essence! Meanwhile, watching from a safe distance are the mysterious Mr. Carnivean and Lex Luthor, which can't mean good things for Supergirl!
Heck's Angels' Part 2, continued from YOUNG JUSTICE #12. It's Supergirl versus the members of Young Justice! Supergirl must break the mental control of Dante's winged monkey over the members of Young Justice before they drag her down straight to heck! Continued in YOUNG JUSTICE #13.
The JLA's Zauriel guests in a DAY OF JUDGMENT tie-in! The fallen angel Azmodel has taken over the form of the Spectre, prompting Supergirl and the Justice League's resident angel into a strangely uneasy team-up to do battle in Los Angeles! Will Zauriel force the Maid of Might--an angel of a different sort--to face whether or not she truly is an angel?
This issue, the spotlight shifts from Supergirl over to Andy Jones, also known as Comet, whom we last saw in the clutches of the Angel of Light. Aided by the mysterious Mr. Carnivean, the Angel of Light forces Andy to relive key moments of her hard life, an experience which threatens to break Comet's spirit once and for all!
On several occasions, people have seen Supergirl and recognized her as the mysterious Earth-born angel known as Ember. While trying to learn more about Ember and what their connection really is, the Maid of Might winds up locking horns with a being of pure evil brought back from the grave! The ensuing battle promises to give Supergirl a deadly case of mistaken identity!
Supergirl's essence has been switched with the fallen Earth-born angel Ember, whose body was burned at the stake in the 18th century! And unless she can find a way back inside her own physical form, Supergirl faces the same disembodied fate! As for Ember, she's trapped in the present inside Supergirl's body, and fighting for her life against the equally mysterious Satan Girl!
The Maid of Might becomes more concerned as a group of fanatical Supergirl followers grows in number. She doesn't have time for them at the moment, though, because Linda Danvers has a date with Dick Malverne! Can she have a romantic evening out that won't require Supergirl's services? Yeah, right! But that's okay, since Linda isn't the only one with a big secret this issue!
After dealing with the return of Supergirl's greatest enemy, Linda now must cope with a dying Dick Malverne, whose cancer has returned and threatens to claim him. Meanwhile, the Church of the "S" continues to attract new members, much to the dismay of a powerful being who considers Supergirl a deadly deceiver.
It's a case of good news and bad news for a battle-weary Supergirl in this issue. The good news is that Supergirl's found her friend and fellow Earth Angel, Comet, who's been missing for the past several weeks. The really bad news, though, is that Comet's been turned into an agent for the Carnivore, and is looking to destroy the Maid of Might!
In pursuit of the Carnivore, Supergirl goes up against virtually everyone she's ever fought...and boy, is she ever losing this battle! And even if Linda Danvers can somehow withstand the assault on her mind and body, she won't be in any shape to handle the shocking news she's about to hear!
The adventures of Supergirl take a dark turn! Having lost someone very dear to her, Supergirl's more than just going to hold the guilty party responsible. By the end of this issue, her fury will result in tragic consequences for all involved, and lead the Maid of Might down a path from which she may never return!
Our Earth-born angel has fallen...and she won't get up! The Carnivore has emerged victorious over Supergirl in the Between City, and the citizens of Leesburg and the rest of Earth are going straight to Hell-literally-and unless some divine intervention can help Supergirl back to her feet, all is lost!
A startling new look heralds a dramatic change in Supergirl's life! After the climactic battle with the Carnivore last issue, Linda Danvers is literally no longer the woman she used to be. What made her Supergirl has disappeared, and Linda-exhibiting only a fraction of her former powers-now sets off to find herself. First stop...Metropolis!
Despite a dramatic new look, Linda Danvers only has half the powers and abilities that made her Supergirl. Things become twice as bad for her when she's confronted in Metropolis by both Riot and the Prankster! Unless she can find a way to divide and conquer them, Linda's days could well be numbered!
Linda Danvers meets a young boy who's a talented, aspiring artist. Unfortunately, his work has a tendency to come to life, which doesn't bode well for his critics! With Linda now posing as Supergirl, and still not used to her more limited abilities, she may need the help of a fellow artist who just happens to be Green Lantern!
Linda Danvers thought she was doing the right thing in helping a kid realize his dreams of being a sculptor. Instead, she inadvertently has helped awaken the nightmarish creature the kid brings to life through his art! Can Supergirl and Green Lantern stop the creature before it destroys everything in its path?
It's bad enough that as Supergirl, Linda Danvers has only a portion of the powers she once had. Now she finds herself in the unenviable position of having to play bodyguard to President Lex Luthor, who's become the target of a man dealing with some serious issues of his own. Maybe she should just let the guy get in one shot?
Supergirl has to save Buzz from a family reunion of the worst kind, as the demon-turned-human is forced to come face-to-face with the daughter he never knew! And judging from her insect-like features and ill temper, "Daddy's Little Girl" has plenty of issues to settle with him!
Linda Danvers has a serious problem. Her traveling companion, Buzz, has been poisoned and is close to death. As Supergirl, she can only call on one man to save him, none other than Doctor Fate of the JSA! With Fate intervening, perhaps we'll learn just what's kept Buzz...um...buzzing for so long-and how he might be saved!
Supergirl unfairly judged Buzz of a crime he didn't commit. Now, knowing the truth, the guilt-ridden heroine tracks Buzz all the way to Gotham City. Unfortunately, it looks like Buzz really is on the wrong side of the tracks this time. He's aligned himself with Harvey Dent, a.k.a. Two-Face, whose kidnapping of a scientist leads to the creation of another bizarre foe for the Maid of Might!
Linda and Buzz have to mend their shattered relationship if they have any hope of working together to fulfill their quest. But a brief respite in Atlantic City proves to be anything but restful: the mother of all demons lurks beneath the waves, while Supergirl's only hope of surviving an encounter with her may rest with guest star Lagoon Boy...while Buzz considers an offer from the mysterious Twilight to betray Supergirl to her enemies!
Entry-point issue! When children from a school for the hearing-impaired start becoming ill, Supergirl learns the cause lies with a nearby factory-one that also has a link to her own past. Even with her powers, however, she may not be able to do anything to stop it, unless she and the children find a way to make themselves heard!
We head to Las Vegas, where Supergirl and Buzz run into an offshoot branch of the demon worshippers that Buzz once headed. When the worshippers seek out Buzz's aid in attempting to capture and control a true demon, everyone gets more than they bargained for when they accidentally summon the demon Etrigan!
The Demon Etrigan delightedly tries to play all sides against each other. He becomes aware that Supergirl is threatened by the mysterious captor of the Earth Angel, by Buzz's wavering loyalties and by the demon worshippers who'd like to turn Supergirl into The Demon's bride! Plus, the Bizarro Supergirl shows up in Leesburg, and her presence serves as a threat to Linda Danvers's secret I.D.!
To prevent Linda Danvers from finding the essence of the Earth Angel that made up Supergirl, a mysterious being has tricked guest star Mary Marvel into believing that Linda is actually a demonic impersonator who must be stopped at all costs! Meanwhile, in Leesburg, the Bizarro Supergirl goes head-to-head with Comet, who's trying desperately to rein her in!
Mary Marvel may well be dying, and it looks as if Supergirl is the culprit...which naturally sends Captain Marvel Junior right over the edge! Meanwhile, Linda Danvers is starting to have odd dreams about a being with a flaming sword; Twilight appears to Buzz once more, this time apparently having changed allegiances; and the Bizarro Supergirl manages to accomplish what Linda has not: finding the missing Earth Angel!
Mary Marvel joins Supergirl and Buzz for their next stretch on the road-a road that is suddenly covered in...frogs? Blame Hurmizah, a.k.a. the Black Plague. He's one of the Demon Mother Lilith's co-rulers, and it appears he'd like nothing better than to see Supergirl, Mary and Buzz croak!
While examining ancient ruins in Mexico, Supergirl, Mary Marvel and Buzz face off against the sorceress Tara-another ally of the Demon Mother who has plagued Supergirl in recent months. The encounter, unfortunately, winds up catapulting Supergirl back in time, and she quickly finds herself about to become a sacrifice during the reign of the Aztecs!
Amid ancient Aztec ruins in Mexico, Supergirl, Mary Marvel and Buzz must fend off the attack of the serpent god Quetzlcoatl, who's been resurrected by the Demon Mother Lilith to help execute her master plan. We also learn there may be another snake in the grass lurking nearby, one Supergirl would never suspect!
Deep in the heart of the Amazon rainforest lies the original Garden of Eden, the sacred place that Supergirl is convinced holds the Earth Angel of fire. Unfortunately, thanks to a long-simmering jealousy of Mary Marvel that prompts her to ignore her traveling companion's warnings of a possible trap, Supergirl may wind up destroying the missing Earth Angel she's been trying to save!
This is it! Linda Danvers's quest to find the Earth Angel essence that was Supergirl reaches a startling climax...though it may not end exactly as she hoped, especially when one of her traveling companions is killed by the Demon Mother, Lilith! Can Linda re-merge with Supergirl? Should she? Or is there another answer? Prepare for the end of this major storyline, and the beginning of a shocking new direction for Supergirl with issue #75!
Featuring the debut of the new art team of Ed Benes & Alex Lei, and an all-new direction for Supergirl! With her personal journeys ended-no Earth Angels, no Chaos Streams, no demons to fight-Linda Danvers can now claim to be the one and only Supergirl, right? Wrong! When a spacecraft crashes down outside Leesburg, Supergirl races over to the destroyed craft to look for survivors, and finds...Supergirl?! Linda Danvers becomes immersed in a mystery that will shake her very identity and existence.
Linda Danvers, a.k.a. Supergirl, has met Kara Zor-El, a.k.a Supergirl...but is she the real deal? Linda's not sure, so she brings Kara to Metropolis to meet a real Kryptonian. Unfortunately, a lot of strange things in the big city are keeping the Man of Steel preoccupied...though they may tie in to the mystery behind Kara's arrival!
Linda Danvers, a.k.a. Supergirl, gets a gig as a substitute art teacher at the local high school, while Kara Zor-El, a.k.a. Supergirl, takes the opportunity to experience life firsthand as a normal Earth teenager. The girls better enjoy the moment, because The Fatalist is coming-and he's out to eliminate Supergirl! Of course, now he has a choice of targets...
The Fatalist has given Johnny Rebel the means and support to defeat Supergirl...both of them! Meanwhile, it's the first day of school for new student Kara Zor-El and Leesburg High's newest substitute art teacher, Linda Danvers. Looks like detention can be dangerous, and the Girls of Steel are both in for harsh lessons!
