Arthur Sullivan

Arthur Sullivan (1842-1900) was the most prominent English composer and conductor of his day. In addition to the many operettas he wrote with Gilbert, he also composed a grand opera ("Ivanhoe"), many oratorios and symphonies, and numerous hymns which are still popular today.
