Augustine Nash

Augustine Nash was born in a small village in Herefordshire, England, in 1937. At the age of 16 she met and married; by the age of 19 she'd had three children. Augustine worked as a nurse for twenty four years and following her retirement she decided to fulfil her ambition to write novels. Since then she has been a prolific writer and her first book 'Shadow of the Eagle' was entered for the Booker Prize. Many of her books are based on her own experiences and memories of characters she has met in her life. Her husband was a serving officer in the Royal Air Force which meant moving every couple of years to military postings both in the U.K. and overseas. She is now housebound due to a disability, so her writing has become even more important to her, and dedicates 4-6 hours each day writing and meticulously researching subject matter.
