Bernard Glassman was rabbi of Tifereth Israel Synagogue in New Bedford, Massachusetts. An adjunct member of the history department at Southeastern Massachusetts University, he held a B.A. in philosophy from Brooklyn College (1957) and graduate degrees from Old Dominion University (M.A. in history, 1969) and from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America (B.H.L., 1958; M.H.L., 1961; D.H.L., 1971). He is the author of Protean Prejudice: Anti-Semitism in England's Age of Reason and Benjamin Disraeli: The Fabricated Jew in Myth and Memory. Cofounder of the Center for Jewish Culture at Mass Dartmouth History professor lecturer researcher in Anglo-Jewish history at Harvard University
