Robert Castel

Robert Castel is director of studies at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. His other books include Le Psychanalysme, l'Ordre Psychiatrique, and La Gestion des Risques. The translator, Richard Boyd, is assistant professor of political science at the University of Pennsylvania, and a noted scholar of French social theory in his own right.
