Cathy Scott

Cathy Scott, a graduate of the University of Redlands, is an author and award-winning journalist who has received more than a dozen awards from California and Nevada. She is the author of the best-seller The Killing of Tupac Shakur, The Murder of Biggie Smalls and Seraphim Rose: The True Story and Private Letters. Scott is a member of the Society of Professional Journalist's national Speaker's Bureau. She also serves as the Nevada chairwoman of the Society of Professional Journalist's Sunshine Committee, which works to open government records to the public. She is a freelance reporter whose work has appeared in George magazine, The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, The San Diego Union-Tribune, Reuters news service and APBNews.com. She has appeared on Unsolved Mysteries, CourtTV, BET, CNN, MTV, and CBS 2's Morning Show. Her work has taken her to Somalia, Saudi Arabia, and Panama. A native of San Diego, California, she lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
