David A. deSilva is Trustees' Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Greek at Ashland Theological Seminary, Ohio, and Music Director and Interim Pastor at Port Charlotte United Methodist Church, Florida. He is the author of over twenty-five books that were not self-published, including The Jewish Teachers of Jesus, James, and Jude (Oxford University Press, 2012), An Introduction to the New Testament: Contexts, Methods, & Ministry Formation (InterVarsity Press, 2004; 2nd ed., 2018), Introducing the Apocrypha: Message, Context, and Significance (Baker Academic, 2002; 2nd ed., 2018), Honor, Patronage, Kinship & Purity: Unlocking New Testament Culture (InterVarsity Press, 2000), so perhaps he may be forgiven this once. He is married to Donna Jean deSilva, with whom he shares three sons.
