David Atienza

David Atienza received a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2006. He has taught history, philosophy, anthropology, and applied linguistics at different institutions and universities in Spain and Guam. He is a co-founder of Xiphias Gladius, the Spanish research team on René Girard's Mimetic Theory. Dr. Atienza's research interests and main works are focused on Cultural Identity Processes and historical Anthropology. Currently, he is an associate professor of anthropology and professor in the Master in Micronesian Studies at the University of Guam.
