Deana Decker

Deana F. Dekcer grew up in Essex, Vermont and moved to Hurley in 1996. She has had a lifelong interest in history, and in November of 2007 was appointed Historian for the Town of Hurley. She graduated in 1993 from Norwich University with degrees in International Studies and French. In 1995, she received a degree in Paralegal Studies from Champlain College. Decker is a member of the Hurley Heritage Society and acts as a docent at their museum. She also volunteers with the Hurley Fire Department and at the Ernest C. Myer Elementary School. She is a member of the New York State Association of Public Historians. When not writing, Decker is busy raising her two children. She also enjoys scrapbooking, photography, reading, and outdoor activities.
