Dennis Smith

Dennis Burnier-Smith also writes under the pseudonym of Laurie Driver. He has six books to his credit. Dennis started writing after an Industrial accident terminated his career as a long distance truck driver. Born in Manchester, England he left school with a number of GCE's and started work for the road transport section of British Rail. Upon receiving his all groups license he moved into long distance haulage, being employed by numerous haulage companies over the yearsUnder the pseudonym of Laurie Driver he has written 3 semi autobiographical works based on his life in transport. First was 'This Truckin' Life' followed by, 'The Railway Years' then 'Laurie Driver-The Early Years.' He then published a Biography of Thomas John Barnardo of Barnardo's homes and orphanages. Following this he wrote his first thriller 'Evil is, as Evil Does' a hard hitting, dark novel containing adult material. 'No Account' is his latest novel, a thriller about Bank Robbery, Murder, and rape.Dennis lives in semi-retirement with his wife, in Manchester.
