Elinor Glyn, née Sutherland (17 October 1864 - 23 September 1943), was a British novelist and scriptwriter who specialized in romantic fiction and whose works were considered scandalous by Victorian standards. Glyn popularized the concept of It, which many of others authors adopted, and she had a tremendous influence on early 20th-century popular culture too, particularly within the Early- and Classical-Hollywood film studios.
