Epictetus

Epictetus (c. 50-135 CE) was a Greek Stoic philosopher who taught that freedom and tranquility arise from understanding the limits of one's control. Born into slavery and later freed, he established a school of philosophy in Nicopolis. His teachings were recorded by his student Arrian and have been transmitted through works such as the Discourses and the Enchiridion, forming a central part of the Stoic tradition.
