Aeschylus

Aeschylus (c. 525-456 BC) was one of the three great tragedians of ancient Greece and is often regarded as the father of Greek tragedy. Writing during the early flowering of Athenian drama, he expanded theatrical storytelling by introducing additional actors and developing more complex dramatic structures. Of his many plays, only seven survive, including Agamemnon, The Libation Bearers, The Eumenides, and Prometheus Bound. His trilogy The Oresteia remains one of the most influential works in the history of theatre and literature.
