Florence Morgan Gillman

Florence Morgan Gillman, phd, std earned her doctorates at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. She is emerita professor of biblical studies at the University of San Diego. She has taught a wide variety of courses in biblical studies, especially in the areas of Pauline studies and Christian origins. She has widely published in her research areas, which include the New Testament texts and world, women in the earliest churches and the history of earliest Christianity. Dr. Gillman has lectured abroad frequently in many countries and has been a visiting professor at the Institute of Sino-Christian Studies, Hong Kong, and Holy Spirit Seminary, Hong Kong, lecturing for those institutions in Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan and Hong Kong. She previously served as the University of San Diego's chair of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, as well as oordinator of the programs in Interdisciplinary Humanities and Classics. She currently teaches at the Franciscan School of Theology.
