J. J. Hwang

Jae-Jeong Hwang is currently the director of Innovation Center for Engineering Education at Kunsan National University, Korea. He is also professor of School of IT Information and Control Engineering at the KNU, since 1987 and adjunct professor of RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia, since 2008. He served as the dean of Engineering College, the dean of graduate school of industry, the director of Information & Computing Center, Engineering Research Center, BK21 Industry-Academy Cooperated Education Project, and Small & Medium Enterprises Center. His research interests are digital image/video coding & processing, information theory, object segmentation and tracking, and IT convergence and applications. He is the co-author of Techniques and standards for image, video and audio coding (Prentice Hall, 1996), Digital Image/Video Engineering (Ajin, 1999), Digital Television Master (InterVision, 2007), Information and Coding Tech. (Dooyangsa, 2008), and Fast Fourier transform - Algorithms and applications (Springer, 2010), Video coding standards: AVS China, H.264/MPEG-4 PART 10, HEVC, VP6, DIRAC and VC-1 (Springer, 2014). He has also written some chapters in the books on digital video image quality and perceptual coding and digital consumer electronics handbook.
