John P. Hayes

Dr. John P. Hayes is the Titus Chair for Franchise Leadership at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. He is one of the few people worldwide to have owned multiple franchises, to have served as President & CEO of a major American franchisor organization, and to have provided marketing and development services to franchisors and franchisees internationally. He knows franchising from all sides of the business and has devoted his career to educating people about franchising. Dr. Hayes began working in franchising in 1979 and wrote America's first book about how to buy a franchise: Franchising: The Inside Story. Since then, he has written more than a dozen best-selling books about franchising, including Start Small, Finish Big, with the co-founder of Subway, and You Can't Teach A Kid To Ride A Bike At A Seminar, the Sandler Sales franchise story. For more than 25 years he has taught The A to Zs of Buying a Franchise, the most popular seminar at the International Franchise Expo and at other expos internationally.
