Joseph Vogel

Joseph Vogel grew up in Northern California and Utah. Following his role in inviting filmmaker Michael Moore to Utah Valley State College, he was awarded the college's Martin Luther King, Jr. Award for his efforts in the advancement of free speech. He is the author of three books including Free Speech 101 (2007 Bronze Winner, Independent Publisher Book Awards) and The Obama Movement. He has been featured in numerous newspaper, radio, and TV interviews, including Democracy Now!, Radio West, the Chronicle of Higher Education, and the award-winning documentary This Divided State. He currently resides in upstate New York where he is working on his Ph.D. at the University of Rochester.
