Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 B.C.--43 B.C.) was a Roman statesman, orator, and philosopher. His turbulent political career spanned the final years of the Roman republic. His treatises in the fields of philosophy and rhetoric are considered some of the most influential works in the Western tradition.
