Rajmohan Gandhi is a renowned scholar and writer. He was editor of the Indian Express and research professor with the Centre for Policy Research. He led the Indian delegation to the UNHRC in Geneva in 1990 and was a member of the Rajya Sabha during 1990–92. Having taught political science and history at the University of Illinois until 2012, he is now a visiting professor at IIT Gandhinagar and Michigan State University. Apart from several biographies, most notably the critically acclaimed Mohandas: A True Story of a Man, His People and an Empire, his works include Understanding the Muslim Mind, Revenge and Reconciliation: Understanding South Asian History and Understanding the Founding Fathers: An Inquiry into the Indian Republic’s Beginnings.
