Sergios Theodoridis

Sergios Theodoridis is a renowned researcher and author of Machine Learning. He has received a number of awards, including the 2014 IEEE Signal Processing Society Education Award, the 2014 IEEE Signal Processing Magazine Best Paper Award, the 2009 IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Transactions on Neural Networks Outstanding Paper Award, the EURASIP 2014 Meritorious Service Award, and has served as a Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE Signal Processing Society and the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. He is also the co-author of the best-selling Pattern Recognition (now in its 4th edition), and Introduction to Pattern Recognition, A MATLAB Approach. He also serves as co-Editor-in-Chief of the Academic Press Library in Signal Processing, and Editor-in-Chief of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Transactions on Signal Processing. He is a Fellow of EURASIP and a Fellow of IEEE. He is Professor in the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, where he leads the Machine Learning and Signal Processing group. His vision is to inspire the next generation of researchers at the University of Athens.
