Simon Chapman is a self-confessed jungle addict making expeditions whenever he can. His travels have taken him to tropical forests all over the world, from Borneo and West Papua to the Amazon.The story of his search for a mythical giant ape in the Bolivian rainforest, The Monster of the Madidi, was published in 2001 (Aurum). He has also written numerous books for children, mostly on the subject of exploration. Explorers Wanted: At the North Pole was the winner of the 2005 Blue Peter award: 'Best book with facts'.He has a new series of books out ( 'Live or Die- You choose'; Virus Outbreak, Alien Invasion, Prison Escape and Jungle crash), published by Franklin Watt in 2013.When he is not exploring the rainforest (for most of the time to be honest), Simon teaches Science at Morecambe Community High School in Lancashire.
