Sjón

Born in Reykjavík in 1962, Sjón has written novels including The Blue Fox, The Whispering Muse, From the Mouth of the Whale, Moonstone, and CoDex 1962. He received the Nordic Council's Literature Prize and the Icelandic Literary Prize, and was short-listed for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award and the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize. His work is available in thirty-five languages. Sjón has also authored seven poetry collections, opera librettos, and lyrics for artists like Björk. He received an Oscar nomination for his lyrics in Dancer in the Dark and co-wrote the film script for The Northman with Robert Eggers. In 2017, he contributed to Norway's Future Library project, following writers Margaret Atwood and David Mitchell. He lives in Reykjavík, Iceland.
